Try a consultation
A consultation lasts:12:00
The opening of a 12-minute consultation. When time is up we read the transcript and show you what you covered, in your own words.
How it works
Three steps, twelve minutes.
12:00 before you start
Pick a case
Browse by curriculum area or take the featured case. Read the doctor's notes — context, history, medication — then start the clock.
08:42 mid-consultation
Consult by voice
Talk to the patient out loud, in your browser. They answer in their own words and can share a photo or a result mid-call. The call ends at twelve minutes.
00:00 when the call ends
Read the report
Within moments: a score in each of the three domains with your strengths and what to try next, and every item of the case marked found, partly or still to find — with your own transcript as the evidence.
A note from us
We want one thing for you: to pass. Not to scrape through. To walk in knowing you can open a consultation, find what the patient is really worried about, and close it well in twelve minutes. Every case here is written for that. Every report quotes you back to yourself so the next one is better. Go and be the doctor your patients are lucky to get.

Questions
Questions registrars ask.
What is the 90-second demo, and what happens to my voice?
You talk to a fictional patient from our case bank for 90 seconds — the opening of a consultation — and the same scorer that reads a full consultation reads the transcript. Your voice is processed to run the call.
How close is this to the real exam?
The same shape: the doctor's notes first, a twelve-minute case, a patient who answers what you ask and little more, and feedback afterwards in the three domains. Two honest differences: the patient is an AI voice, not an actor, and nobody is marking you live. Treat it as rehearsal.
How is the feedback produced, and who checked it?
Senior GPs write the marking guidance for every case: what a strong consultation looks like and what candidates commonly miss, such as ideas, concerns and expectations. After the call, our software applies that guidance to your transcript and returns the domain scores, the feedback and the coverage analysis within moments. It is not an official RCGP mark, and it is not a prediction of your result.
How many cases are there?
Over 80 cases across 24 curriculum areas as of September 2026, every one fictional and written for the SCA. There is a featured case each day, and new cases are added as they are written.
Does it work on my phone?
It runs in a modern browser on a phone or a laptop and asks for microphone access when you start. A quiet room and headphones help. The report is easier to read on a bigger screen.
What happens to my transcripts?
The transcript of each consultation is saved to your history with its scores and feedback. Every patient is fictional, so no real patient data is ever involved. Retention and deletion are set out in the Privacy Policy, and you can ask us to delete your account and everything in it.
What does it cost after the free consultation?
£2 a consultation, bought as credits: top up from £10, in any amount. There is no subscription and nothing to cancel. Every purchase comes with a receipt.
Can I claim it on my study budget?
Many registrars can. NHS England's guidance allows up to £600 for one SCA preparation resource across training, and online simulation platforms are named. Check with your deanery before you buy; the exam fee itself is not claimable.
